Renting a Van for IKEA Furniture Transport in Zagreb
How to bring IKEA furniture home yourself in Zagreb: choosing a cargo van, loading flat-pack boxes, 5-hour and 24-hour rental prices and tips before you shop.

Why transport your IKEA purchase yourself
IKEA home delivery usually takes a day or two and costs extra. If you are in a hurry or want to save, collect your furniture yourself in a cargo van – a 5-hour rental is enough for most shopping trips.
Flat-pack boxes travel much better in a van than in a car: they go in through the rear doors, stack side by side and stay dry. No deposit is needed for cargo vans.
Which van for an IKEA trip
For small purchases – lamps, textiles, a few small boxes – the Renault Master L2H2 is enough. For wardrobes, beds or desks, take the L3H2 because the boxes are long and rigid. For tall shelving or stacked boxes the high-roof L3H3 is better, and the L4H3 suits high-volume loads up to 4.2 m long.
How to load flat-pack boxes
Stand long, flat boxes upright along the side walls and lean them against each other so they do not tip over. Heavy boxes go on the floor towards the cab, light and soft items on top.
Secure the load with straps and protect corners with a blanket – unloading then takes only a few minutes.
What does the van cost
For one IKEA trip, a 5-hour rental for €50 with 150 km included is usually enough. For a bigger shop or several trips, the 24-hour rental for €70 with 300 km is better value. Additional kilometres in Croatia cost €0.20; all prices include VAT.
Before you go shopping
Measure the space at home and check door widths and stairs – that is where most problems happen, not in the van. Bring blankets for corners and a trolley for carrying boxes.
Saturdays are busy, so picking the van up earlier means a calmer trip. Book in advance and we will confirm the pick-up time at Radnička cesta 184.
